Industrial pipelines have dirty surfaces due to various accumulations, leading to obstruction of fluid flow and localized corrosion attack on the metal. Scale layers increase pressure drop and cause complete or partial blockage.
Online cleaning systems can be easily installed during the construction and installation stages of the plant and, if not installed, require temporary piping, isolation valves, and hose connections for cleaning. Pigging and brushing methods, which are equipment cleaning methods, are considered for online pipe cleaning, but these methods are usually not applicable if hard scale is formed, the pipe diameter is not constant, or branch lines are present. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the composition and characteristics of the additives and select the appropriate cleaning agent. Common inorganic scale-forming compounds include minerals such as various iron oxides (corrosion products), aqueous sediments, hardened sediments (carbonates and silicates of calcium and magnesium), and certain other scale may be present. Inorganic acids used in chemical cleaning include hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and nitric acid, but most of these acids react with metals and cause damage to pipelines, making it dangerous to use them carelessly. Therefore, when choosing a cleaning chemical, it should be applied after verifying whether the cleaner to be used reacts with the metal material of the pipeline. Cham Clean cleaners are vegetable additive-based cleaners that contain powerful metal corrosion inhibitors and are developed, manufactured and supplied as precision chemicals that essentially block damage to various metals.
