Refinery/Petrochemical Heat Exchangers

HydroCarbon Residue Fouled Heat Exchanger CIP or OLC Cleaning

Cleaning technology for heat exchangers in oil refineries/petrochemical plants

Deposits are constantly accumulating on the heat transfer surfaces of heat exchangers, and when excessive, this increases the pressure drop (ΔP), creates turbulence, and impedes the flow of fluid. Soft deposits can be removed with organic solvents, but hard scales formed from a combination of hydrodarbon and mineral components cause persistent and rapidly increasing problems. Inorganic solids further reduce the heat transfer efficiency, and if the process fluid contains corrosive substances, they accelerate the damage to the material. The cleaning method must prevent physical damage, and it is important to select a suitable cleaning agent that does not damage the material.

To solve this problem, it is most desirable to maintain the performance of the heat exchanger by using a CIP (Cleaning In Place) method or OLC (Online Cleaning) that allows cleaning without disassembling or removing the device using an eco-friendly detergent.

Cham Clean provides precision chemicals that effectively remove solid substances attached to the Heat Exchanger through CIP or OLC.
